Financial Analyst - variance reporting (Des Moines, IA)

Nova Lakeside Civic Services works with county and city offices around Des Moines. We are hiring a Financial Analyst to take on variance reporting. Public service means patience, paperwork and pride in the outcome. What you will do • Model the cost of permits and recommend where to save. • Prepare board and lender packs with clear charts. • Support pricing and investment decisions with careful analysis. • Explain monthly variances in plain language for managers. • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. What we are looking for • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. Nice to have • A relevant degree or certification. • Experience with public records. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Des Moines. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
