Financial Analyst - variance reporting (Birmingham, AL)

Bright Ashton Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Birmingham, and we need a Financial Analyst to lead our variance reporting. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Model the cost of billing disputes and recommend where to save. • Automate recurring reports so they take hours, not days. • Prepare board and lender packs with clear charts. • Support pricing and investment decisions with careful analysis. • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. What we are looking for • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. Nice to have • A relevant degree or certification. • Experience with service connections. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Birmingham. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
