Financial Analyst - budgeting and forecasting (remote)

Harborlight Fern Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Detroit. We are hiring a Financial Analyst to take on budgeting and forecasting. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Support pricing and investment decisions with careful analysis. • Explain monthly variances in plain language for managers. • Model the cost of ridership counts and recommend where to save. • Automate recurring reports so they take hours, not days. • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. What we are looking for • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. Nice to have • A relevant degree or certification. • Experience with accessibility audits. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
