Financial Analyst - budgeting and forecasting (Des Moines, IA)

Fernwood Cross Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Des Moines, and we need a Financial Analyst to lead our budgeting and forecasting. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Automate recurring reports so they take hours, not days. • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. • Explain monthly variances in plain language for managers. • Prepare board and lender packs with clear charts. • Support pricing and investment decisions with careful analysis. What we are looking for • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. Nice to have • A relevant degree or certification. • Experience with survey data. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Des Moines. • We reply to every applicant.
