Dispatcher - driver support (Des Moines, IA)

Nova Fern Freight is a Des Moines logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch. We are hiring a Dispatcher to take on driver support. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Coordinate with the teams handling carrier rates on changes. • Record hours and mileage accurately. • Track progress and update customers on timing. • Solve problems on the road such as delays, breakdowns and access issues. • Assign jobs and routes to drivers and crews. What we are looking for • Experience in dispatch, driving or scheduling. • Calm decision-making under pressure. • Clear voice and good local knowledge. Nice to have • Experience with routing software. • Knowledge of carrier rates. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Des Moines. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
