Dispatcher - daily route planning (Birmingham, AL)

Northwind Birch Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Birmingham. We are hiring a Dispatcher to take on daily route planning. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Track progress and update customers on timing. • Coordinate with the teams handling proof of delivery on changes. • Record hours and mileage accurately. • Solve problems on the road such as delays, breakdowns and access issues. • Assign jobs and routes to drivers and crews. What we are looking for • Clear voice and good local knowledge. • Calm decision-making under pressure. • Experience in dispatch, driving or scheduling. Nice to have • Experience with routing software. • Knowledge of proof of delivery. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
