Dispatcher - customer updates (Richmond, VA)

We are growing our team at Northwind Orchard Freight and adding a Dispatcher whose main responsibility will be customer updates. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Coordinate with the teams handling carrier rates on changes. • Solve problems on the road such as delays, breakdowns and access issues. • Record hours and mileage accurately. • Assign jobs and routes to drivers and crews. • Track progress and update customers on timing. What we are looking for • Clear voice and good local knowledge. • Calm decision-making under pressure. • Experience in dispatch, driving or scheduling. Nice to have • Experience with routing software. • Knowledge of carrier rates. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
