Dispatcher - customer updates (Des Moines, IA)

Highbridge Forge Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Des Moines, and we need a Dispatcher to lead our customer updates. You would join a large organisation of about 346 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Solve problems on the road such as delays, breakdowns and access issues. • Coordinate with the teams handling carrier rates on changes. • Record hours and mileage accurately. • Assign jobs and routes to drivers and crews. • Track progress and update customers on timing. What we are looking for • Calm decision-making under pressure. • Clear voice and good local knowledge. • Experience in dispatch, driving or scheduling. Nice to have • Experience with routing software. • Knowledge of carrier rates. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Des Moines. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
