Dispatcher - customer updates (Birmingham, AL)

Amberfield Ashton Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Birmingham, and we need a Dispatcher to lead our customer updates. Early starts and steady work; we look after our drivers. What you will do • Coordinate with the teams handling service complaints on changes. • Solve problems on the road such as delays, breakdowns and access issues. • Record hours and mileage accurately. • Track progress and update customers on timing. • Assign jobs and routes to drivers and crews. What we are looking for • Calm decision-making under pressure. • Clear voice and good local knowledge. • Experience in dispatch, driving or scheduling. Nice to have • Knowledge of service complaints. • Experience with routing software. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Birmingham, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
