Dispatcher - after-hours coverage (remote)

Summit Umber Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of El Paso, and we need a Dispatcher to lead our after-hours coverage. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Record hours and mileage accurately. • Assign jobs and routes to drivers and crews. • Solve problems on the road such as delays, breakdowns and access issues. • Track progress and update customers on timing. • Coordinate with the teams handling customer tracking on changes. What we are looking for • Experience in dispatch, driving or scheduling. • Clear voice and good local knowledge. • Calm decision-making under pressure. Nice to have • Experience with routing software. • Knowledge of customer tracking. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in El Paso. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
