Dispatcher - after-hours coverage (Jacksonville, FL)

Lumen Sparrow Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Jacksonville. We are hiring a Dispatcher to take on after-hours coverage. You would join a small organisation of about 187 people based in Jacksonville. What you will do • Track progress and update customers on timing. • Record hours and mileage accurately. • Assign jobs and routes to drivers and crews. • Solve problems on the road such as delays, breakdowns and access issues. • Coordinate with the teams handling dock schedules on changes. What we are looking for • Experience in dispatch, driving or scheduling. • Clear voice and good local knowledge. • Calm decision-making under pressure. Nice to have • Knowledge of dock schedules. • Experience with routing software. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Jacksonville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
