Dispatcher - after-hours coverage (Indianapolis, IN)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Fern Freight and adding a Dispatcher whose main responsibility will be after-hours coverage. You would join a small organisation of about 30 people based in Indianapolis. What you will do • Assign jobs and routes to drivers and crews. • Solve problems on the road such as delays, breakdowns and access issues. • Coordinate with the teams handling carrier rates on changes. • Track progress and update customers on timing. • Record hours and mileage accurately. What we are looking for • Experience in dispatch, driving or scheduling. • Calm decision-making under pressure. • Clear voice and good local knowledge. Nice to have • Knowledge of carrier rates. • Experience with routing software. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Indianapolis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
