Dispatcher - after-hours coverage (Detroit, MI)

Northwind West Freight Partners moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Detroit. We are hiring a Dispatcher to take on after-hours coverage. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Assign jobs and routes to drivers and crews. • Solve problems on the road such as delays, breakdowns and access issues. • Record hours and mileage accurately. • Track progress and update customers on timing. • Coordinate with the teams handling loads and lanes on changes. What we are looking for • Calm decision-making under pressure. • Experience in dispatch, driving or scheduling. • Clear voice and good local knowledge. Nice to have • Experience with routing software. • Knowledge of loads and lanes. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
