Data Analyst - quality and error analysis (San Jose, CA)

Ironwood Glen Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in San Jose working with agencies and riders, and we need a Data Analyst to lead our quality and error analysis. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Investigate trends in service alerts and explain what is driving them. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. What we are looking for • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Experience with data on route schedules. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in San Jose. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
