Data Analyst - quality and error analysis (San Diego, CA)

We are growing our team at Highbridge Banking Services and adding a Data Analyst whose main responsibility will be quality and error analysis. Most people here started in a branch and stayed. What you will do • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Investigate trends in loan files and explain what is driving them. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Experience with data on card disputes. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
