Data Analyst - quality and error analysis (remote)

Fernwood Basin Environmental Services Group serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Virginia Beach. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on quality and error analysis. Safety briefings happen every morning. What you will do • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Investigate trends in landfill records and explain what is driving them. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on recycling loads. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
