Data Analyst - quality and error analysis (remote)

Westbrook Forge Transit Planning · Remote · contract

Westbrook Forge Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Chicago working with agencies and riders. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on quality and error analysis. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Investigate trends in route schedules and explain what is driving them. What we are looking for • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Experience with data on service alerts. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
