Data Analyst - quality and error analysis (Oakland, CA)

Bluepeak Hollow Arts Center is looking for a Data Analyst. The job centres on quality and error analysis for exhibitions, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Investigate trends in exhibitions and explain what is driving them. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. Nice to have • Experience with data on school partnerships. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
