Data Analyst - operations reporting (San Jose, CA)

Stonegate Orchard Transit Planning helps transport agencies around San Jose design routes and schedules. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on operations reporting. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Investigate trends in ridership counts and explain what is driving them. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on fare systems. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in San Jose. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
