Data Analyst - operations reporting (Sacramento, CA)

Cedar Vista Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Sacramento and nearby communities. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on operations reporting. You would join a large organisation of about 477 people based in Sacramento. What you will do • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Investigate trends in treatment plant data and explain what is driving them. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Experience with data on meter reading. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Sacramento, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
