Data Analyst - operations reporting (remote)

Northwind Ridge Insurance is looking for a Data Analyst. The job centres on operations reporting for catastrophe response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Investigate trends in catastrophe response and explain what is driving them. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on policy renewals. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
