Data Analyst - operations reporting (remote)

Redstone Beacon Water Authority operates treatment plants and pipelines around Boston. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on operations reporting. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Investigate trends in pipe repairs and explain what is driving them. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on meter reading. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Boston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
