Data Analyst - operations reporting (remote)

Northwind Ember Markets serves neighbourhoods around Virginia Beach with fresh food and everyday goods. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on operations reporting. We like people who know our customers by name. What you will do • Investigate trends in online orders and explain what is driving them. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. Nice to have • Experience with data on store inventory. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
