Data Analyst - operations reporting (Providence, RI)

Ironwood Glen Transit Planning is looking for a Data Analyst. The job centres on operations reporting for ridership counts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Investigate trends in ridership counts and explain what is driving them. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on service alerts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Providence. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
