Data Analyst - operations reporting (Madison, WI)

Westbrook Iron Insurance Partners sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Madison, and we need a Data Analyst to lead our operations reporting. Claims teams work together and share what they learn. What you will do • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Investigate trends in premium billing and explain what is driving them. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on underwriting files. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Madison. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
