Data Analyst - operations reporting (Houston, TX)

Fernwood Cedar Inspection Services is an inspection company in Houston with field technicians and lab staff. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on operations reporting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Investigate trends in scheduling and explain what is driving them. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Experience with data on certifications. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Houston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
