Data Analyst - operations reporting (Des Moines, IA)

Fernwood Thistle Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Des Moines. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on operations reporting. We follow the school calendar and we like people who like learning. What you will do • Investigate trends in student accounts and explain what is driving them. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on attendance records. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Des Moines. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
