Data Analyst - operations reporting (Birmingham, AL)

Cedar North Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Birmingham. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on operations reporting. You would join a large organisation of about 380 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. What we are looking for • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. Nice to have • Experience with data on catastrophe response. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
