Data Analyst - forecasting (Toledo, OH)

We are growing our team at Northwind Lantern Insurance and adding a Data Analyst whose main responsibility will be forecasting. You would join a large organisation of about 581 people based in Toledo. What you will do • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Investigate trends in catastrophe response and explain what is driving them. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on premium billing. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Toledo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
