Data Analyst - forecasting (San Diego, CA)

Fernwood Stone Freight is looking for a Data Analyst. The job centres on forecasting for dock schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Investigate trends in dock schedules and explain what is driving them. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. What we are looking for • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on customer tracking. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in San Diego, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
