Data Analyst - forecasting (Reno, NV)

Cedar Amber Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Reno. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on forecasting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Investigate trends in policy renewals and explain what is driving them. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on premium billing. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Reno, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
