Data Analyst - forecasting (remote)

Fernwood Lakeside Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Sacramento working with agencies and riders, and we need a Data Analyst to lead our forecasting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Investigate trends in survey data and explain what is driving them. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. What we are looking for • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on service alerts. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Sacramento. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
