Data Analyst - forecasting (remote)

Silverline Freight is looking for a Data Analyst. The job centres on forecasting for carrier rates, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Investigate trends in carrier rates and explain what is driving them. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Experience with data on dock schedules. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
