Data Analyst - forecasting (remote)

Fernwood Nest Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around Dallas. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on forecasting. You would join a large organisation of about 937 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Investigate trends in underwriting files and explain what is driving them. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. Nice to have • Experience with data on premium billing. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Dallas. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
