Data Analyst - forecasting (remote)

Bright Hollow Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around San Diego. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on forecasting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Investigate trends in survey data and explain what is driving them. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Experience with data on service alerts. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in San Diego. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
