Data Analyst - forecasting (Portland, OR)

Summit Granite Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around Portland, and we need a Data Analyst to lead our forecasting. You would join a small organisation of about 76 people based in Portland. What you will do • Investigate trends in premium billing and explain what is driving them. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on catastrophe response. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
