Data Analyst - forecasting (Oakland, CA)

Lumen Quarry Energy Group delivers power and gas plans across the Oakland region. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on forecasting. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Investigate trends in billing disputes and explain what is driving them. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on meter readings. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
