Data Analyst - forecasting (Grand Rapids, MI)

Greenridge Thistle Insurance is an insurance company in Grand Rapids with claims and service teams. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on forecasting. You would join a small organisation of about 50 people based in Grand Rapids. What you will do • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Investigate trends in underwriting files and explain what is driving them. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Experience with data on policy renewals. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Grand Rapids. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
