Data Analyst - forecasting (El Paso, TX)

Bright Thistle Insurance is looking for a Data Analyst. The job centres on forecasting for underwriting files, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in El Paso. What you will do • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Investigate trends in underwriting files and explain what is driving them. What we are looking for • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Experience with data on claims. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in El Paso, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
