Data Analyst - forecasting (Detroit, MI)

Fernwood Drift Civic Services supports public agencies in Detroit with budgeting, records and programmes. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on forecasting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Investigate trends in public records and explain what is driving them. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Experience with data on procurement. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
