Data Analyst - forecasting (Cincinnati, OH)

Cedar Amber Insurance Group sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Cincinnati. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on forecasting. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Investigate trends in underwriting files and explain what is driving them. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. What we are looking for • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Experience with data on policy renewals. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Cincinnati, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
