Data Analyst - forecasting (Chicago, IL)

Bright Willow Insurance is looking for a Data Analyst. The job centres on forecasting for claims, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. What we are looking for • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on underwriting files. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
