Data Analyst - forecasting (Birmingham, AL)

Northwind Cobalt Construction is looking for a Data Analyst. The job centres on forecasting for permits, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Site safety is non-negotiable. What you will do • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Investigate trends in permits and explain what is driving them. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on materials orders. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Birmingham. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
