Data Analyst - dashboard development (New Orleans, LA)

Fernwood Glen Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in New Orleans working with agencies and riders. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on dashboard development. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Investigate trends in ridership counts and explain what is driving them. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Experience with data on service alerts. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in New Orleans. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
