Data Analyst - dashboard development (Buffalo, NY)

Cedar Junction Insurance Group sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Buffalo, and we need a Data Analyst to lead our dashboard development. You would join a small organisation of about 18 people based in Buffalo. What you will do • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Investigate trends in policy renewals and explain what is driving them. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. Nice to have • Experience with data on underwriting files. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Buffalo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
