Data Analyst - dashboard development (Birmingham, AL)

Westbrook Orchard Civic Services supports public agencies in Birmingham with budgeting, records and programmes, and we need a Data Analyst to lead our dashboard development. Public service means patience, paperwork and pride in the outcome. What you will do • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Investigate trends in procurement and explain what is driving them. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on permits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
