Data Analyst - customer trends (Virginia Beach, VA)

Fernwood Forge Freight is a Virginia Beach logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on customer trends. You would join a small organisation of about 36 people based in Virginia Beach. What you will do • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Investigate trends in dock schedules and explain what is driving them. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Experience with data on proof of delivery. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Virginia Beach, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
