Data Analyst - customer trends (San Jose, CA)

Amberfield Birch Environmental Services collects and processes waste and recycling around San Jose. We are hiring a Data Analyst to take on customer trends. Safety briefings happen every morning. What you will do • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Investigate trends in collection routes and explain what is driving them. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Experience with data on service complaints. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
