Data Analyst - customer trends (San Jose, CA)

Ironwood Keystone Transit Planning Group is looking for a Data Analyst. The job centres on customer trends for route schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 88 people based in San Jose. What you will do • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Investigate trends in route schedules and explain what is driving them. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on service alerts. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
