Data Analyst - customer trends (remote)

Nova Sable Insurance is looking for a Data Analyst. The job centres on customer trends for underwriting files, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Investigate trends in underwriting files and explain what is driving them. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. What we are looking for • Clear writing. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on claims. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Sacramento. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
